Dual Occupational Safety Degrees

What is Occupational Safety Management in the real world? Find out sooner with an accelerated degree from the 欧美视频. With the only ABET-accredited bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 programs of their kind, UCM offers an accelerated degree program that allows you to earn both your BS degree in Occupational Safety and MS degree in Occupational Safety Management (OSM) with an accelerated path. To enroll, you鈥檒l start by majoring in Occupational Safety B.S. program, then apply to the accelerated program through the Occupational Safety Management M.S. program during your junior or senior year.

If you feel passionately about occupational safety, health and environment, occupational safety management jobs may be your calling. Safety professionals are in high demand, and job opportunities are available in every industry, including construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, insurance, healthcare, government agencies and more. Although the impact of safety professionals is hard to measure, UCM graduates of the BS/MS Occupatioinal Safety Management (OSM) accelerated program say their OSM degrees lead to truly helping others stay safe, protecting property and environment, promoting business and gratifying work in laws and regulations.

Value is another huge benefit of earning both your bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degrees together. Students say the process is easy, since BS credits flow right into the MS (up to 9 credit hours). Upon completion of your BS degree in Occupational Safety, you may have completed up to 30% of your OSM graduate credits under this accelerated path! You will be eligible for the Graduate Safety Practicioner (GSP庐) designation from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) upon graduation with the OSM degree.

What you will study

Start your journey to success with our ABET-accredited BS program in Occupational Safety, featuring three distinct concentrations:

  • Safety Management
  • Environmental Management
  • Occupational Health Management

No matter which concentration you choose, you鈥檒l take classes that prepare you for a rewarding Occupational Safety career. Delve into industry-focused topics such as safety leadership, risk management, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, system safety, statistical analysis, accident investigation and many others.

After accepted into our BS/MS OSM accelerated program during your senior year, you will be allowed to take dual-listed safety courses up to 9 credits that can be applied to both your Occupational Safety BS degree and Occupational Safety Management MS degree!

Core courses in the ABET-accredited Occupational Safety Management MS program include Occupational Hazard Management, Risk Management and Financing, Organization, Administration and Supervision, and Industrial Hygiene, which will help you to manage a safety program efficiently.

What is occupational safety management to us? It means earning  both your Occupational Safety BS degree and advanced Occupational Safety Management MS degree in a way that works best for you. Our customizable program allows you to earn your bachelor鈥檚 degree and secure a job in the safety field, then work toward your master鈥檚 degree 鈥 at your pace. Full-time students complete the MS in as little as one year. Part-timers earn their MS in three to six semesters.

The graduate with a Master of Science degree in Occupational Safety Management will use the knowledge and skills obtained in the program to:
