your Business Teacher degree at UCM:
- Use of Active Learning Classrooms: UCM faculty aim to keep you engaged using the latest business equipment and technology
in our newly renovated classrooms, including our Wall Street classroom.
- Tremendous field experience: Field experiences start your sophomore year, when you鈥檒l observe a CTE teacher in
the classroom, before transitioning to co-teaching and then leading instruction. In
fact, you can expect to gain extensive experience in a high school classroom before
you begin student teaching your final semester.
- Participation in various student organizations: Meet other future business teachers when you join DECA, Project CTE or the Future
Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Phi Beta Lambda chapter. You can also network with
students in other Education programs at UCM and other colleges and universities as
a member of the Student Missouri State Teachers Association.
What can you do with a Business Teacher degree from UCM?
After graduating with your Business Teacher degree from UCM, you鈥檒l be certified to
teach grades 9 through 12, as well as middle school students, in Missouri. You may
also be interested in leading your school鈥檚 DECA or FBLA student organization.
Other employment options with your Business Teacher degree include corporate training
programs, career centers, adult education programs and federal job training programs,
among others.

A Marketing minor will not only give you more in-depth knowledge of this aspect of
