The Division of Music at the 欧美视频 (UCM) School of Visual
and Performing Arts has announced several events for the Fall 2024 season.
From family concerts to the Ovation Performance Series, UCM is proud to bring an exciting
world of music to Warrensburg this fall.
The season opens with the Provost鈥檚 Faculty Showcase at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26 in
Hart Recital Hall. Celebrate the start of the new school year with performances from
stellar faculty from across the divisions of Music, Theatre and Dance. Everyone is
invited to attend a free pre-event reception from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the UCM Art
Center Gallery. The annual Division of Art & Design faculty showcase will take place
later in the semester.
Three events in October and one in November round out the fall festivities for UCM
Music.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, the 44th annual Festival of Champions returns to Walton Stadium
to showcase the best high school marching bands from across the region.
UCM voice professor Jacob Sentgeorge takes center stage at Hart Recital Hall on Monday,
Oct. 21 for a recital of music by women composers, together with guest artist Courtney
Fletcher, soprano, and UCM piano professor Mia Kim.
On Wednesday, Oct. 30, venture if you dare to Hendricks Hall for a brand new event,
Mulemania Halloween. Starring UCM Bands, this immersive, family-friendly event will
include themed music, a costume contest and free or discounted admission for kids
and adults who show up in costume.
The fall season concludes with 鈥淎mahl and the Night Visitors,鈥 a presentation of UCM
Opera on Nov. 20-23 in the Highlander Theatre. An audience favorite since its television
premiere in 1952, this one-act holiday performance is a collaboration between UCM
Music and UCM Theatre and Dance, and is made possible by generous support from the
Missouri Arts Council. Special guest artists, StoneLion Puppet Theatre, will perform
alongside the student cast.
