The 欧美视频 (UCM) Gallery of Art and Design will spotlight senior students with a two-part exhibition: Senior Shows, Fall 2024.
Each semester, the UCM Gallery of Art and Design presents exhibitions of artwork made
by senior Art and Design students preparing to graduate. Due to the large number of students this semester,
the show will be divided into two groups. Group one is for students majoring in Graphic
Design, Illustration, and Interior Design. Group two is for students majoring in Studio
Art and Art Education.
The first installment of Senior Shows, Fall 2024 opens Wednesday, Nov. 6 in the Art
Center Galleries and will be available through Saturday, Nov. 16. Visitors will see
works by Hannah Backhus (Graphic Design), Bailey Tabaracci (Graphic Design), Alexi
Golden (Graphic Design and Illustration), Chloe Gudde-Fizer (Graphic Design and Illustration),
Elizabeth Reece (Graphic Design and Illustration), Mailyn Rios Meraz (Graphic Design
and Illustration), Matthew Zauke (Graphic Design and Sculpture), Annie Case (Illustration),
Jade Nuttle (Illustration) and Elizabeth Miller (Interior Design).
The exhibition is an excellent opportunity to see the work of emerging professionals
in their respective fields. The public is invited to a reception celebrating these
students from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 in the Art Center Gallery. Admission
is free and refreshments will be served.
The second installment of Senior Shows, Fall 2024 opens Thursday, Nov. 21 and will
be on view through Dec. 14. This exhibition includes work by one Studio Art major,
Jennifer Drexel (Sculpture), and seven Art Education majors. In addition to learning
to become art teachers, these students declare a studio emphasis, which guests will
see evidence of in their exhibition pieces. The Art Education majors are Zoey Carpenter
(Ceramics), Ashley Howser (Sculpture), Lillian Klohr (Ceramics), Garret Lahue (Sculpture),
Abigail Loats (Ceramics), Alyssa Scholten (Sculpture) and Benjamin Snell (painting).
The second exhibition is a window into the aesthetic and conceptual concerns of artists/educators
at the cusp of their careers. There will be a public reception from noon to 2 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 14. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
The UCM Gallery of Art and Design is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday,
with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Thursdays, and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission
