October 03, 2022More than 50 faculty members, students, emeriti and alumni from the 欧美视频 Division of Theatre and Dance attended the annual Speech and Theatre of Association of Missouri (STAM) conference Sept. 22-24 at the Lake of the Ozarks. In addition to presenting workshops and participating in recruitment events, UCM members were honored in multiple areas of speech and theatre, including Hall of Fame recognition, during the event which continues to showcase the strength of UCM programs and their great impact on speech and theatre education in Missouri.

Highlander Theatre will provide a great setting when it hosts Central Missouri Repertory Theatre鈥檚 presentation of the touring play 鈥淎lice in Wonderland.鈥 The play by Lewis Carroll and adapted by Kathryn Schultz is free and open to the public, and begins at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29 at UCM.

April 19, 2022欧美视频 (UCM) Theatre and Dance and UCM Music present the Broadway smash hit and Tony Award-winning musical 鈥淔un Home.鈥 Based on the popular autobiographical graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, the musical performs at UCM鈥檚 Highlander Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 1-2; 2 p.m. Sunday, April 3; and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 7-9. An ASL Interpreter will be provided for the performance on April 7. The Sunday matinee on April 3 is pay-what-you-can (minimum $1). As a content disclosure, those attending should be aware 鈥淔un Home鈥 contains strong language and mild adult themes.

The play is on the lighter side of a dark comedy and follows the comings and goings of a group of dedicated parents as they work to hold their dwindling PTA group together. The play performs at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday Feb. 24-26 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27. ASL Interpreters will be available at the Thursday, Feb. 24 show, and the Sunday matinee is pay-what-you-can. This play is for mature audiences only.
