Flags Honoring 9/11 Victims, Moment of Silence Planned as UCM Observes Patriot Day on Sept. 11 at the Quadrangle

In memory of those who lost their lives during the worst terrorist attack on United States soil, the Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ is planning the Patriot Day Moment of Silence event beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 at the quadrangle.

UCM Announces In-state Tuition Rate for Military and Veteran Dependents

While the Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ has a longstanding commitment to making higher education more affordable for individuals who currently serve in the military as well as veterans, UCM is not forgetting the families of those who dedicate their lives to this country. When it met on campus recently, UCM’s Board of Governors approved a recommendation to expand the university’s in-state tuition rates to dependents of service members and veterans.

UCM Partners with Air University Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative to Provide Environmental, Safety, Risk Management Degree Pathways

Members of the United States Air Force who want to further their education have two new pathways to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Safety and Risk Management (ESRM) from the Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ. These opportunities are made possible through UCM’s selection as a partner in the Air University Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative (AU-ABC) with the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).

Exercise Tiger Association Honors Swoboda Among Adopted Warriors

An honor that was awarded to 16 service members across the nation, Courtney Swoboda, director of Military and Veteran Services at the Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ, was recently recognized as an Adopted Warrior by the Exercise Tiger Association (ETA), a national non-profit commemorative foundation. She and others who received this distinction were publicly honored the weekend of Nov. 12-13 during Military Appreciation festivities that occurred on the University of Missouri – Columbia campus.

UCM Welcomes WAFB 509th Commander to Campus

WARRENSBURG, MO – Continuing to build upon its relationship with the men and women who serve at Whiteman Air Force Base, the Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ hosted a visit by Col. Daniel C. Diehl on Aug. 6. This was Col. Diehl’s first visit to UCM after officially taking the reins as commander of the 509th Bomb Wing during a ceremony June 16 at Whiteman AFB.

Military veterans who transitioned into the civilian job market will be among those sharing advice for other service members who want to make a similar career change during the Warrior in Transition Forum. This free event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, March 8, at the Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ.
