WARRENSBURG, MO – For the second consecutive year, , a subsidiary of Fortune Media, has ranked the online MBA program at the University of Central Missouri as a top program in the nation. The ranking placed the program in the 55th spot among 108 other institutions that made the list. Housed in the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies, UCM’s program was the highest ranked program of only two Missouri institutions that were included in the line MBA ranking.

According to the Fortune website, the online MBA program was recognized as a top program due to its flexibility, quality and accessibility. In its rankings feature, Fortune cites benefits of an online MBA that include the ability for students to work full time and apply lessons they obtain during their education directly to the work space, courses that are tailored to students who want to stay in their current industry and career path, and the ability to parlay the degree into higher salary earnings over time.

To conduct the ranking, the methodology used by Fortune compared institutions by several different factors. These included program score, a score calculated by combining data from a survey sent to universities; the average undergraduate GPA and average GMAT scores of incoming students; student retention rates; graduation rates; and student body size.

Fortune notes about the UCM Online MBA, “The ŷƵ (Harmon) no longer requires a GMAT or GRE score for admission to the program. No letters of recommendation are required and incoming online MBA students had an average undergraduate GPA of 3.4. The acceptance rate into the
university’s online program was 57% last year, and the program had a graduation rate of 64% within three years. Students must complete 33 credits to graduate.”

UCM’s MBA program is accredited by AACSB International. This makes UCM one of only six Missouri universities to have both business and accounting accreditations through AACSB. As part of the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies, students can expect a program that strives for excellence, engagement, innovation and integrity.

UCM is frequently named among the best universities for MBA degrees. Recent 2022 rankings also include the following; being named a Best Business School by U.S. News and World Report; Best Part-time MBA by U.S. News & World Report: and Best MBA Program (#19) by Intelligent.
