WARRENSBURG, MO 鈥 While the 欧美视频鈥檚 Office of Military and
Veteran Services works with local veterans organizations to help plan for Veterans
Day Nov. 11 in the Warrensburg community, two special activities also will take place
on campus to honor university veterans and others who have served their country.
Activities at UCM include the second annual Military and Veteran Appreciation Breakfast
for UCM faculty, staff and students who are veterans or are currently serving in the
military. The event is planned for 7 to 9:30 a.m. in the Ellis Dining Center, and
will feature special remarks at 8 a.m. by Deborah Curtis, provost-chief learning officer
at UCM. The breakfast is free for campus employees and students who have served in
the military, but all must present a veteran or current military ID. Other interested
individuals are welcome to attend, however the cost will be $4.99 at the door. Sodexo,
UCM鈥檚 dining services provider, is helping to make this event possible.
In cooperation with the American Red Cross, the university also will host the fourth
annual Military Appreciation Blood Drive in Elliott Student Union, Rooms 238 and 240,
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. UCM is competing with the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg
to earn a traveling trophy for the most donations provided during the event.
Appointments for the blood drive are preferred, however, walk-ins are welcome. Donors
will receive free pizza and a coupon for a free taco. To register in advance, visit

Members of the UCM community will join in the Veterans Day 2015 observance at American
Legion Post 131, 733 E. Young St., Warrensburg, at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Brig.
Gen. Paul W. Tibbets IV,commander of the 509th Bomb Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base.
The ceremony is hosted by Matthews-Crawford American legion Post 131, William A. Carelton
VFW Post 2513 and the UCM Office of Military and Veteran Services. It is sponsored
by Exceptional Homes Properties/Homes for Heroes.
