WARRENSBURG, MO - Lisa London, a resident of Fairway, Kan., who has more than 13 years
of success in educational program development and university administration in Texas,
has been named Director of UCM-Lee鈥檚 Summit, the 欧美视频鈥檚
extended campus facility serving the Kansas City metropolitan area. She begins her
duties Nov. 30.
鈥淲e look forward to having Dr. London serve in this key leadership role,鈥 said Laurel
Hogue, vice provost for extended studies. 鈥淗er many years of higher education experience,
along with proven success in relationship development, are exactly what we need for
UCM-Lee鈥檚 Summit to continue on a path for successful growth and service in the metro
area.鈥
London has a passion for career and technical education with a wide variety of experiences
and knowledge. This includes her most recent position as associate vice president
for the Division for Enterprise Development at the University of Texas at Arlington,
where she played a key role in expanding the local and global outreach for the institution.
In this capacity from 2004 to 2015, she led a team of approximately 125 employees
and 250 instructors, contractors, and subject matter experts who deliver workforce
training and technical solutions supporting both private and public organizations
in Texas and across the globe.
London began her career in higher education with the Texas Engineering Extension Service,
which was one of Texas鈥 largest workforce development agencies and a member of the
Texas A&M University System. She served from 2001-2004 as program manager for the
OSHA Training Institute Education Center, where she developed an online youth curriculum
for the OSHA Outreach Program that reached more than 500,000 young workers since its
inception.
Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Public Policy (Sustainability)
from The University of Texas at Arlington; Master of Divinity from Texas Christian
University-Fort Worth, Texas; and a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Mathematics and
Natural Science) from the College of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M.
With more than 2,300 students enrolled this fall, UCM-Lee鈥檚 Summit, 850 NW Chipman
Road, serves as the university's residence center for educational opportunities in
the Kansas City region. The facility offers nine graduate programs and seven undergraduate
degree completion programs for students transferring from a community college.
At the undergraduate level, UCM-Lee鈥檚 Summit offers degree completion programs in
child and family development, criminal justice, general studies, management, nursing,
psychology, and social work. Graduate students have opportunities in areas such as
business administration, computer information systems, computer science, counselor
education, education, occupational safety management, and social work.
Being a good education partner in Lee鈥檚 Summit also means reaching out to the metropolitan
area to provide other programs that meet specific workforce needs. UCM-Lee鈥檚 Summit
works with a number of businesses and industries in the metropolitan area to provide
professional development opportunities for employees. The university offers certificate
or certification programs in different subject areas to help existing employees improve
their job skills, and possibly move up the career ladder or prepare for new careers.
