According to Best Value Schools the Bureau of Labor Statistics has projected that employment for construction managers will increase by 11 percent from 2016 to 2026, which is faster than the national average for all occupations.

Construction managers have the ability to organize and oversee construction teams to ensure quality standards are being met and the project is finished on deadline. One of the advantages of having a construction management degree, Best Value Schools notes, is that students can pursue other positions, although they may require additional education. Some graduates may consider becoming attorneys who specialize in construction, construction managers, or architects. Because the degree requires majors to develop business knowledge and skills, students also graduate from the construction management program with preparation that can assist them in the business world. UCM graduates who have completed a BS in Construction Management currently use their knowledge to oversee many different aspects of multi-million dollar projects; coordinate and supervise all contractors and subcontractors; and facilitate communication between all project team members.
