WARRENSBURG, MO 鈥 Faculty, staff, students, education alumni and anyone whose life
has been impacted by a teacher are invited to a fun and engaging golf tournament hosted
by the 欧美视频鈥檚 College of Education Friday, July 26 at Mules National Golf Club, 5 Par Drive, Warrensburg.
The tournament kicks off a series of special activities for the academic year 2019-2020
that are part of the celebration of the college鈥檚 100-year anniversary. Special events during the centennial year are being planned according to the theme,
鈥淢y Central, My Legacy.鈥 In addition to this golf outing, activities include a ribbon
cutting ceremony for the Legacy Suite in Lovinger Education Building Aug. 15, the
College of Education鈥檚 centennial celebration weekend, Oct. 25-26, and other events
that commemorate UCM鈥檚 history of preparing outstanding educators and unveil the college鈥檚
vision for the future.
Interested individuals are encouraged to sign up and in advance. The cost is $125 per person or $250 per team, and includes breakfast,
lunch and two drink tickets. Giveaways and prizes will be awarded.
A prominent recreation area on today鈥檚 campus, Mules National Golf Club is an 18-hole
public golf course and includes features such as zoysia fairways, beautiful white
sand bunkers, UCGA-spec bentgrass greens, an island green on the 18th hole and a 650-yard
par 5, all providing a challenging but fair opportunity for golfers of all abilities.
The UCM College of Education dates back to the naming of the university as Central
Missouri State Teachers College in 1919. This was the result of legislation which
renamed all of the state鈥檚 Normal Schools, which were created to prepare teachers
to serve the state of Missouri.
