and Michael Cadwell, Sigma Pi fraternity, on Oct. 15 were honored as Homecoming Royalty
during halftime of the Mules vs. Missouri Southern State University Lions football
game at Audrey J. Walton Stadium.
WARRENSBURG, MO 鈥 While Mules football fans watched their favorite team capture a
victory Saturday, Oct. 15, the 2022 Homecoming celebration at the University of Central
Missouri had winners of many different kinds with contests and special events that
took place on campus throughout the week. The university鈥檚 Office of Student Activities
released this year鈥檚 competition results, many of them announced during the football
game.
In the annual Homecoming Royalty competition, Adrian Chinn, Sigma Kappa sorority was
crowned Queen, with Keiasiah Mozee, Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, second; and Kamryn
Geiman, Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, third. The Royalty King was Michael Cadwell, Sigma
Pi fraternity; Ryan Lett, Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, was second; and Eion Jones,
Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, third.
For many students participating in this year鈥檚 Homecoming, the competitions were an
opportunity to work collaboratively for fun, bragging rights, or in some cases to
help a good cause.
Greek men and women teamed up on their parade entries and the award winners in their
division were as follows: Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and Sigma Pi fraternity, first;
Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and Delta Chi fraternity, second; and Alpha Sigma Alpha
sorority and Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, third. The Campus Christian House captured
first place among student organizations that participated in the parade, and in the
Community category, top parade entries were, RISE Community Services, first; Warrensburg
Christian School, second; and Center Stage, third.
In the Cheering Contest, Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and Sigma Pi fraternity captured
first place; Sigma Kappa sorority and Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, second; and Alpha
Sigma Alpha sorority and Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, third.
Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and Delta Chi fraternity collaborated for a win in the Spirit
Window competition. Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity finished
second, and Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and Farmhouse finished
third.
The Bowling Tournament concluded with Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and Sigma Pi fraternity
racking up 750 pins for a first-place victory; Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority and Sigma
Tau Gamma fraternity finished second with 711 pins; and PRISM finished third with
648 pins.
The annual Homecoming Blood Drive led to the collection of 292 units of blood to help
save lives. Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and Delta Chi fraternity contributed to this
effort and finished first among all competitors. Also recognized were Delta Zeta sorority
and Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity, which was second, and Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority
and Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity, third.
Donation creation was an opportunity for student groups to collect food and other
non-perishable items that were arranged in displays that captured UCM spirit and theme
for this year鈥檚 Homecoming, 鈥溑访朗悠 Feeling 鈥22.鈥 These items
were then donated to the Campus Cupboard to serve students and employees in need.
The first-place entry was created by Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity,
and Farmhouse. Sigma Kappa sorority and Alpha Tau Omega fraternity finished in second
place, and Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and Phi Sigma
Kappa fraternity received third-place honors.
