The GEA Test Prep Blackboard Community provides electronic resources to help students prepare for the General Education Assessment (GEA). Whether you need general suggestions about preparing for the GEA for the first time or need additional practice before a retake, the GEA Test Prep Blackboard course can help. Students will learn what to expect, see FAQs, practice sample questions and effectively prepare for their exam.
Students retaking the GEA will need to complete a series of test prep modules in our GEA Test Prep Blackboard course. This is a free Blackboard course. Students can self-enroll in the community through their UCM Blackboard. Completion of required items will be shared with Testing Services.
The Learning Commons has GEA tutors who can provide additional assistance in reading comprehension, writing skills, and math. Students can schedule one on one sessions with GEA subject tutors by contacting the Learning Commons directly. Appointments should only be scheduled after working in Blackboard. Tutoring sessions do not replace the Blackboard course.
The GEA Test Prep Community is a free course available to all UCM students.

These modules represent the minimum amount of preparation needed to retake the GEA. Once all of the REQUIRED items have been completed, students will need to pass the GEA Test Prep Assessment with a 70%. This assessment is the final step of the GEA Test Prep Blackboard course.
