By Sam Schleicher, June 6, 2018

WARRENSBURG, MO (June 6, 2018) 鈥  The Central Missouri Police Academy () spring class of 2018 will graduate on Thursday, June 12 with a hiring rate of 100 percent of those actively seeking a job in law enforcement.

Twenty graduating CMPA cadets have been hired or conditionally offered a position before graduation. The positions the cadets will be accepting are all located throughout the state of Missouri. Two cadets in the current class are not currently seeking employment in law enforcement.

Graduation marks the cadets鈥 completion of the 20-week course at the academy. The course curriculum fulfills requirements for Missouri Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification and also provides 15 hours of undergraduate college credit.

The graduation ceremony, which is free to attend and open to the public, will be held at 6 p.m. in the Elliott Student Union Ballroom (room 240) on the University of Central Missouri campus. The ceremony will last approximately one hour and culminate with the "Pinning Ceremony," as cadets whose job offers have been finalized will have their badge "pinned" on them by a member of their new department.

The Central Missouri Police Academy and Institute for Public Safety, a division of the Missouri Safety Center at UCM, is a basic law enforcement academy and full-service continuing education provider for those interested in pursuing or furthering a career in public safety, including law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services, and homeland security personnel.
